On the morning of October 25th, a FC30 hydrogen-electric version of the carrier drone with medical supplies took off from Liuhang Island, Zhoushan City, and under the double test of 7 gusts of wind and moderate rain, it crossed the sea surface, transported the medicine boxes to the health office of Hangshan Village on Hangshan Island, and returned to Liuhang Island in the same way, and the trans-island air transportation of medical supplies was successfully accomplished.
Zhoushan is known as the “Capital of Thousand Islands”, with a large number of scattered islands, including 2,085 large and small islands, of which more than 100 are inhabited, making it a large and scattered island. Due to the special geographical location of Zhoushan Islands, the transportation between islands mainly relies on waterways and aviation, but the direct transportation between islands is still mainly by ferry. Supplies for island residents are mainly transferred by incoming and outgoing passenger ships, and some of the islands have fewer weekly passenger ship sailings, so express delivery generally takes 3-5 days to reach the Zhoushan main island transfer point, especially for some urgent medical supplies, which can't be delivered instantly.
It is understood that the test site for the FC30 Hydrogen Electric UAV to deliver medical supplies is located on Liuhang Island and Hangshan Island, and the two islands mainly rely on ferries for residents to travel between the two islands, and the ferries will be out of service in the event of a typhoon or other inclement weather.
Local residents said that in the past, when they were sick, if the health center did not have the medicine, residents usually choose to go out by boat to get the medicine, the boat ride will take one to two hours.
The FC30 hydrogen-electric version of the carrier drone is equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell system developed by Hydrogen Air Technology, with high-pressure gas cylinders on both sides of the fuselage, a flight time of up to 1 hour, and a load capacity of 15kg, greatly increasing the endurance time. Facing the Zhoushan Islands, which has many islands and relies mainly on ferries for transportation, the FC30 Hydrogen-electric version of the UAV combines the endurance of hydrogen electricity with the carrying capacity of this model, which can complete the transportation of materials between different islands in a short time, and efficiently meet the demand for transporting and scheduling of medicines and other medical materials in emergencies.
The FC30 hydrogen-electric version of the carrier UAV has successfully realized the low altitude transportation of long-distance cross-island supplies under bad weather, which is not only the first time for a hydrogen-electric UAV to overcome bad weather and fly on the sea surface, but also the first hydrogen-electric UAV in China to realize long-distance cross-island transportation of supplies. In the future, Hydrogen Air Technology will continue to utilize advanced hydrogen technology to continuously empower the low-altitude economy, bring long endurance, clean, zero-carbon, and more environmentally adaptable hydrogen strategies to traditional drone companies, and jointly promote the development of low-altitude business.
