In December 2024, Hydrogen Aviation Technology's lightweight fuel cell system successfully won the bid for the first batch of scientific and technological projects of China Southern Power Grid Electric Power Research Institute in 2024 with its excellent product performance.
In March this year, Liang Yangyao, executive director and co-founder of Hydrogen Aviation Technology, and his drone team visited the Electric Power Research Institute of Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau, and the two sides had in-depth exchanges on the current situation and opportunities for the development of hydrogen energy in the power industry, and reached a consensus on cooperation on expanding the application of M350 hydrogen electric version in power inspection. After the meeting, witnessed by the leaders of both sides, Hydrogen Aviation Technology successfully completed the flight demonstration of DJI M350 hydrogen electric version.

At present, China's power industry not only requires full coverage of backbone network inspection, but also gradually achieves full coverage of inspection in the distribution network. The distribution network is widely distributed and the equipment is diverse, which puts forward higher requirements for the lightness and long endurance of the UAV. The DJI M350 hydrogen electric version has a compact and portable design, good mobility, and a battery life of up to 90 minutes after modification, which is 3-4 times longer than the traditional lithium battery version, which will greatly improve the human efficiency ratio in the field of power inspection and better adapt to the inspection needs of backbone and distribution networks. At present, the DJI M300/350 drone market stock exceeds 40,000 sets, of which the power grid stock has more than 15,000 setsThe market demand for the hydrogen powertrain of the M350 is huge.

With the continuous advancement of energy transition and the deepening of intelligent upgrading of the power industry, the demand for hydrogen-powered drones in the power inspection market will continue to be released. Through the cooperation with DJI Flight Platform and the successful demonstration and application with the Electric Power Research Institute of Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau, Hydrogen Aviation Technology is expected to set a benchmark for the application of hydrogen drones.
